Member Login

Do you have a friend or colleague who belongs in our community of arts lovers and professionals?
Follow the steps below to propose them for membership!

1. Get an application.
Pick up a copy at The Arts Club office, or email [email protected] for a fillable electronic version. Share it with the applicant, or ask us to send it to them directly.
The application packet includes information on the history and mission of The Arts Club, the Membership Manager’s contact information,  and the benefits of membership.

2. Review Membership Categories with the applicant and identify the proper category for them. (For professional member applications, this can sometimes be tricky.)
Make sure the prospective member has a shareable resume/cv and bio for review by the Membership Committee.
Specific qualifications for professional membership categories are also outlined in the application–a website, portfolio, license, or record of accomplishments may be required.
Consult the Membership Manager for guidance in placing your applicant in the proper category to avoid disappointment.

3. Submit a letter of recommendation.
In two or three paragraphs, describe the applicant’s interest in and commitment to the arts.
Include an argument for why they would make a great member. Bring your letter to the office, mail it to The Arts Club (attn. Membership), or send it to
[email protected].
Remember this letter is part of their permanent record and will introduce that person to the Arts Club.

4. Make introductions.
Applicants need support from two additional Arts Club members.
Is the applicant new to Chicago or unfamiliar with The Arts Club? Invite them to join you and a few of your favorite fellow members for a lunchtime program or evening cocktail in The Drawing Room.
We are happy to provide tours or help facilitate introductions for prospective and new members as well.
Seconders may sign the original application or email
[email protected] with a short message indicating their approval.

After your applicant is accepted, help welcome them to the Club! The staff does its best to make new members aware of upcoming social events, but proposers and seconders are key in making sure that they feel welcome.
We recommend inviting the new member to join you at an event within their first two months of membership.
